Cartagena, one of the worlds top tourist destinations was the host city for one of the top squash events in Latin American history. With a large Egyptian participation, the tournament took place at the Plaza de Aduana impressing the crowd and new comers.
In the first round, I played Alan Clyne, a tough opponent whom I was able to beat in 5 games. Second round presented a tough matchup against Marwan ElShorbagy for a place in the semis. That night, my game was not at the highest and I lost 3/1 against a very talented player.
I take several lessons from this fantastic week! It was a difficult task to feel the pressure from playing infront of my home crowd.
I will have the opportunity to compete again!!
